Hello wanakijiji,Help me out,I would want to install a Solar System for my mum at home ju KPLc na REREC wanaleta maringo.
Would want a system to power up 3 bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen and 4 floodlights.
Also , charge phones and sustain a 43 inch tv plus sound system bila kukosa stima hata siku moja.
How much would be the total cost inclusive of Solar panel, inverter, battery na wiring?
Which brands would you recommend and also the do’s and donts…And also the total estimated cost.
Area of Installation is Jikaze(Wiyumiririe) area in Laikipia county.

why spend 500k and still pay power bills.
500k is enough for a 3KW solar array, highest quality 5KW inverter to allow for future panel expansion and 5KWh top spec lithium battery

There are these companies that instal complete solar units that have bulbs, a TV and phone charging unit for less than 100k I guess aoun 70k

Tafuta lithium batteries. Go for a 200ah one. Check jiji for a nice deal. Also you need an MPPT charge controller and 4 * 120watts solar panel. If you get another type of battery you will regret

@mtadao posted his solar setup here some time back and he said it runs his home - 700w panels, 30a Charge controller, 1500w inverter and two 200ah batteries. So solar is doable.

500,000÷15,000 = 33 months ie 2 and 1/2 yrs. Meanwhile a well sized solar setup would last at least 15 years.
