Dude practices farming so was thinking a such a fence would take up less space compared to other methods

Maintance of an electric fence in such a big area is tasking due to shot/open circuits that occur due to animals or vegitation. You need an energizer that has zoning so that in case of malfuntion you can know where the fault is. Regular trimming of nearby bushes is done routinely more so during the rainy seasons.

1 acre = 4046 square metres. In Kenya that’s normally 40 x 100m so 280m as perimeter. or could be 20 x 200m so 440m in perimeter. See how we can’t assume?

There are many dynamics in play here. How high is the fence, how many strands of live wires. Is it all level and how apart will the intermediate posts be. Also the size of the corner posts. 8 strand of 2mm wire free standing fence give it kes 1200 per meter, translates to kes 1. 2 m. Add some other 100k for energizer and misc.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the solar pannels and battery(s) might increase by another 100k. Energizer using two 1000ah in parallel will do.
