They have been making high tech consumer products for the western hemisphere for quite a while. May be mnapenda kunusa tako ya queen sana. What am I missing?
Labour in industrialized nations is expensive( manpower is highly skilled, GDP is high, so workers want a high pay) while in the East, labour is cheap, workers are many, the nations are on the rise economically and investments are welcome, jobs are welcome, they want to keep rising. The same reason why Apple’s gadgets are assembled in China plus many other electronics, only designing is done in the headquarters and decisions about materials to be used made. Developed nations’ population growth has been stagnating. Not to say the UK can’t build their own nuclear plants, they have the knowledge. Maybe it’s the costs that are the issue.
Assembly. Kama, Apple wanasource materials from different countries-camera from Sony, Japan; some oxides from Philippines, silicon from somewhere else. Then zimapelekwa China Foxconn, tuchinku tunaitwa job tunapewa orientation. Assembly inafanywa under strict conditions, packaging and delivery, then unatokwa na 100K ndio ufloss nayo. Profit margin inakuwa high. Workers paid low wages.

Chinese do everything these days. Even sony operates from china. Chinese have graduated to become the consumers of these products. Only owners and a few decision maker engineers come from america, wall street. A good chunk of consumers are americans and europeans though. In that circus, only a few people are benefiting: The owners at wall street and Chinese hegemony. Everybody else is a pawn.
