They have RFID chips but they need to be replaced once your license expires? I don’t get why they don’t just update their database and use the static info on the chips to retrieve your data.
I saw it’s even costlier to renew than old booklet DLs. No lesser renewal period than 3years.
I’ve always said this; It’s simply doesn’t make sense to go for the smart DL if you can get an annual renewal for the booklet at 650/- (1950/- every three years) versus paying 3,050/- for the smart DL, which you still have to wait a month to get.
