Today I read something and I just found myself bawling my eyes out. In the Bible, there was a certain single mum called Hagar, a slave woman who happened to be one of Abraham’s wives. So at one point Sarah, the main chiq through her influence made her to be chased with her young boy Ishmael into the wilderness. She did not want to share an inheritance with them.
So they reach a point and run out of water and food. She leaves the kid lying in a shade then goes ahead and starts crying saying she does not want to watch the boy dying. However God hears the boy crying. An angel tells Hagar directly, " Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not be afraid. God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Go to him and comfort him for I will make a great nation from his descendants."
In the end it says, "And God was with the boy as he grew up in the wilderness. He became a skillful archer and he settled in the wilderness in Paran." God shaped that kid’s life.
It moved me so much, I put the book down and had to take a time out.
