In a bold display of growing corporate confidence in Tanzania’s sports sector, Simba Sports Club has signed two major sponsorship deals worth a combined TSh 58 billion (approximately USD 33 million)—a remarkable achievement for any club in East Africa.
Betway: TSh 20 Billion (USD 11.4 Million) Sponsorship Deal
On July 29, 2025, Simba SC officially entered into a three-year sponsorship deal with Betway, one of the global giants in sports betting. The agreement, valued at TSh 20 billion, makes Betway the club’s main sponsor, marking a new commercial milestone for the Tanzanian football powerhouse.
Jayrutty Investment: TSh 38 Billion (USD 21.7 Million) Kit Supply Deal
Earlier this year, on April 16, 2025, Simba SC also signed a five-year contract with Jayrutty Investment Company East African Limited to design, manufacture, and distribute the club’s sports kits. The total value of the contract is TSh 38 billion, with TSh 5.6 billion paid annually—escalating by 10% each year. But that’s not all.
Jayrutty will also:
- Build a 10,000 to 12,000-seat stadium
- Provide a modern Irizar luxury team bus
- Construct permanent club offices
- Set up a state-of-the-art media studio for content creation and streaming
Why Kenyans Should Take Note
While many Kenyan clubs struggle with short-term deals and financial uncertainty, Tanzania is setting the pace with long-term, transparent, and high-value partnerships. These deals are not only transforming football but also creating sustainable infrastructure, improving branding, and professionalizing the entire sports ecosystem.
Simba’s strategic vision and corporate partnerships are a masterclass in how African clubs can attract serious investment without compromising ownership or identity.
Total Combined Investment:
- TSh 58 Billion (USD 33 Million)
- A blueprint for sports transformation that the rest of East Africa, especially Kenya, should keenly observe and replicate.
