Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen pocketed millions of dollars selling access to the president via his shell company, according to a list of companies that ponied up. The growing scandal even troubles Fox News, where judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano warned Wednesday that indictment of Cohen could be imminent following revelations he accepted $500,000 in payments from a firm with ties to a Russian oligarch. Shortly before Trump became president, Michael Cohen set up Essential Consultants LLC, a shell firm that eventually paid porn star Stormy Daniels to stay quiet in the run-up to the 2016 election about her alleged affair with the president.
But this week, it was revealed that the financiers for Cohen’s company included major corporations, including Korea Aerospace Industries, the pharmaceutical company Novartis and AT&T. Significantly, it also received money from Columbus Nova, a New York investment firm with close ties to billionaire Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, who has been questioned by special counsel Robert Mueller.
The payments were significant. Novartis paid $1.2 million for “healthcare policy matters.” KAI said it needed help on U.S. accounting standards, and Columbus Nova said it paid a “consulting fee” that had nothing to do with Vekselberg. "
>> The records show $4.3 million in suspicious transactions that flowed through the Cohen company, including the deposits from AT&T and Novartis, Avenatti said.
