It’s true we only want performing governors in azimio
Shosh ametoa makucha
She will be the first one to butt heads with Raila.
Incase she does get the job I pray she won’t be a mindless puppet but a lady of gumption, Kenya needs to surgically deal with unrepentant KANU bastards.
The likes of Junet and Baboon Owino will give her a hard time till she quits
Who will give her that mandate? She will be frustrated by the new “deep state” ya Rao and his.ilk until she quits. Cos I know she will never agree to be in the same government with the same people she disagrees with.
The people will give her the mandate and unlike the previous constitution she will not serve at the president’s leisure, she’ll be protected by the law of the land.
Seems you haven’t learnt something about this constitutional anomaly from UhuRuto fallout.
I have, inspite of the fall out the deputy retained his office and has proceeded to undermine the president from within.
Perhaps you’d care to elucidate further on your misgivings
The constitution protected that office, but it never gave it true independence of mandate. A DP still serves as at the behest of the president. His roles are defined by the guy on that seat. Something the constitution should sort out sooner or later.
The same goes for deputy governors. And mind you, that office can also be starved by some skewed budgetary measures.
On that we agree, however a rebellious deputy can still do real damage to the head
Well, personal discipline and professional etiquette of the DP matters. But we shouldn’t also ignore the fact that the government shouldn’t be in bed with the opposition.
No we should not, checks and balances serve a purpose
