Former Nyandarua Governor Daniel Waithaka Mwangi has been released on a Ksh.10million bond.
Waithaka was charged alongside Grace Gitonga (former Water, Environment and Energy CECM) and Gichinga Gaiko (current chief officer for Water Environment and Energy).
The three are each expected to pay the Ksh.10million bond and a surety of similar amount with no alternative of cash bail.
In his ruling, Nakuru Chief Magistrate Josphat Burudi ordered that those who will fail to raise bond be remanded at Nyahururu Prison.
The Magistrate further directed that the file be taken back to Nyahururu.
This is despite an earlier ruling by Resident Magistrate James Wanyanga declaring that the court does not have jurisdiction to hear the matter.

Those of you who are older will remember when meteorologists used to present weather on kbc…the time of kina wandimi muchemi, nguata froncis na , a bubbly lightskin girl/woman called Grace Gitonga. that Grace is the the one charged alongside the former governor and who was the CEC for water. she resigned abruptly from the met after getting a shs 6 million loan from wana-anga sacco, whose membership is mainly met staff. nothing wrong with that, only that she left 17 of her colleagues who had guaranteed her holding the baby. they have been paying between 3 and 10k for the last five years for money eaten by a heartless person…
But that is not all…she was not born a gitonga but was given that name by a man in a church wedding. the man went for studies in the US and when he was away, grace got busy with another man/men and in the process a child was born. when gitonga was about to return, the child was hidden and grace pretended she had been a holy jane all along. but such information can’t remain hidden for long. soon gitonga was in court filing for divorce. his tramp card came when he produced maternity leave applications and approvals and the divorce was granted…there’s more but you now know how she’s like…
next time you are called to present information during vetting off CEC nominees please volunteer information.
