Shida yetu ni nini ?

Hii story ya professionals is overrated, neglect is the biggest problem coz everyone constructing new buildings doesn’t seem to care. Unapata wasee town kama Mombasa wanajenga tu kiholela holela ata mtu hajali kama ameblock njia, water way ama nini & no one cares be it residents, other house owners, county officials nobody. If you look at areas like old town kuko better coz people cared back in those days, enda town kama Nakuru unaona kuna some order in the arrangement of structures even if ni za mabati.

Kabogo did some urban planning in Kiambu when he was the Gov. Kipchoge Keino too, since he became a millionaire kitambo, settled in an area called Elgon View in Eldy and he vehemently opposed any commercial structure within the area. Saa hii hio Elgon View is the Runda of Eldy - until Red Cross’s Boma Inn came knocking.

These two are more of the exception than the norm.

This is why we need right professionals in govt institutions to enforce regulations.

Prove me wrong.

My guy, ukiangalia credentials za some of the people in govt unapata wako hadi na ma masters, PhDs even lakini sijui nini mbaya na hizo institutions. Kidero one example ya mtu amesoma only to suck Mumias dry and loot Nairobi silly while governing.

Hapa ndio national values inaingia, watu kama kidero wanajua they can steal bila kushikwa and on top of that society sees them as heroes.
Kama nation ingekuwa inatreat big thieves the way they treat small thieves these institutions zingekuwa zinafanya kazi.

sasa waishi wapi na sio birrionea kama wewe?

warudi mashambani, ama ni kifo wanafurahia? watu ya ushago seek urbanization but also severe side effects ziko…employment possibilities and housing facilities are not sufficient at all to absorb the huge influx of people moving into the cities.Poverty, pollution and crime is the order of the day. Rural depopulation which usually means that large numbers of working age people migrate from the countryside to earn more money in the city. But then they leave behind the very old and the very young, causing further problems in rural development as the young, skilled adults are missing…a vicious cycle that can be curbed. Its already hard for city folks to survive with the constraints

I knew a watchman in town who was seating on 7 acres of fallow land back home in Western. Na anashinda hapo kwa ile kanyumba na kulalia carton. Ati shamba ilirogwa hawezi guza. Sijui uncle yake atamwuua. That man is a multi millionaire and he has no clue. I’ve been to Kisii and truth be told there’s no land as fertile or luscious as that. Unaskia mara hii shamba walifukuzwa sijui waliua nani hawawezi rudi…

Kisii can feed millions of people. Na ile lake Victoria pale Nyanza, wacha tu.

I guess ilianza na the likes of Moses Mudamba Mudavadi who lured hundreds of villagers to Nairobi with promises of jobs in kanjo na wengine wakafuata nyuma baadaye. Political maneuvering to control Nairobi. Politician wengine nao wakaleta waJaluo. Hivo hivo mwingine analeta Kikuyu na Nandi…

Kama hii accident ya leo over 50 people dead in Kericho… a very treacherous and tiresome drive back and forth from Nairobi. And expensive as well. For what?

Maybe devolution will address some of these issues you’ve raised on rural urban migration. Watu waachane na Nairobi. Muhoroni pia ni mahali. Chasing empty dreams.
