SGR vandalized.

Sections of the SGR and associated infrastructure have been vandalized at Mariakani with only a few days remaining before the launch.
I guess we trolled @Babagay prematurely, seems there are folks who are out to make sure the project isn’t a success.
Security agencies must crack down hard on this before it becomes routine and take measures to secure the entire stretch.

Ferk… If this is true, it requires planning and some heavy equipment to execute.

I am still not convinced that this is SGR!

These metal dealers respect no one. They have been stealing. For decades they have been stealing drainage manhole covers, putting all of us in great risk. when Thika road was commissioned, they stole lamp posts, rail bolts and small rails.

It has nothing to do with politics.

It’s blatant vandalism, look closely at the second pic and you will see glass fibre cables which have no re-use value have been ripped out.
This is mindless sabotage.

Thika Rd was vandalized for a long time, just until the govt decided to do something about that scrap metal business. I’m told kuuza scrap sahii ni ngumu. Not sure about the facts in that though. Hii kama ni SGR, serikali ianze tena kukaa ngumu kapsaaa mpaka ujinga upungue.

Also waiting since I see the pics are captioned in Chinese.
There’s no talker here conversant with Chinese or Mandarin or whatever?

Mchinku ndiye amerelease hizi mbisha, what mathighs has posted is what I have.

This is not vandalism, it’s malicious damage, it’s sabotage. Someone is trying to cripple the SGR.

Could be true. Iko hata kwa mainstream media.

Nimeona kwa Star na NMG… this should be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest!!

I know I’m a utopian but if this is someone doing it intentionally to subotage then its primitive type of highest order.

It’s our money that built the rail so tuwache ushamba. They need to hire guards somehow .

Someone doesn’t want to see Simba1 make that maiden trip in less than a week.

Lets start from: Who stands to loose/gain the most with SGR in or out of operation?

[li]Politicians[/li][li]transporters (passenger and cargo)[/li][/ol]
Who has the resources to pull of such sabotage… hii sio kitu ya kungoa na pipe range…

As a nascent democracy, Kenya should learn from the more mature democracy America . Economic sabotage is treason and Treason carries a death penalty with or without due process!

In the bigger picture maybe that’s what the perprator wants but it’s not a practicable solution, CCTV would be much cheaper
