Maneno ya Ku upgrade wachana nayo…it was a story fronted by our colonial masters…who said standard gauge is better than Elec? Did he know what he was talking about? Standard gauge refers to the rails whose inside edges are 1.435m apart…electric or diesel powered trains run on this standard gauge rail…
Diesel powered trains were to use The SGR under construction initially before electrifying the rail to now use electric powered trains. One thing m not sure is whether we will achieve the over 200kph speeds being talked about even after electrifying…

Is it possible for the train to generate it’s own electricity using diesel ???

I am lost…own electricity? Using diesel? Unless maybe u fit the train with diesel generators…m not an electrical expert so I may not give an explanation to this.

Yeap, fit the train with generator(s). That way u get electricity

…reli imetoka mombasa almost ifike Nrb na kuna section ya kenyatis bado hawajaielewa yani?

Such exist. They’re called ‘diesel-electric’.
