The Kenya Railways Corporation has received 60 double-stack wagons for the Standard Gauge Railway freight services.
KRC Managing Director Atanas Maina said this is the last batch of wagons this year.
Double stack wagons are able to transport containers with one placed on top of the other.

Trucks will still be there, from the ICD to the warehouse or store hakuna SGR.
Meria ain’t worried at all
Finally. Freight companies can’t wait for cargo services to start. Let it be fast tracked.
Big one…that will positively transform capitalism in Kenya…businessmen in export/import sector are going to be billionaires
cc: @uwesmake your briefcase company will finally get a permanent address.
Mfumilifu hula mbifu
It will be interesting. @Meria Mata kitunguu lazima inuke
Transporters are buying huge tracts of land by the droves along the highway in Mombasa outskirts, mazera-magongo-uwanja-danka-kokotoni••••kina Panal, Transpares, Mashru…adapting accordingly. To real estate. Turela zitabaki A109 ni za kiringa peke yake, i thinks
Mm jambo ,Kwanzaa wewe kazi imeisha. You will be rendered redundant. Utafanya nini when all contracts will go to trains
Kutakuwa na kazi nyingi sana za shunting…port to CFSs…what will be rendered redundant ni zile ma long nose mzee hupiga local huku Mombasa. Those have no place.
Na ma tractors
zitolewe kwa barabara
Kuna kitu moja umesahau, SGR haifanyi door to door na hapo ndio we shall make a killing
@Meria Mata of late I prefer kunukisha kitunguu hapo ICD…less eyes. But now there is one issue, the shipping lines are a bit hesitant to sign contracts with SGR like they had already done with RVR. For now SGR inaleta tu mahindi ya ‘Mexico’
RVR still transports the containers to ICD but wako analog sana sana.
Anyway the future looks bright. Mombasa kaa nayo mkiwa na Sultan 001 mwitu.
