Was following this thread by @Ruffneck asking for a house. Believe that most of us are in Nairobi due to work and thus rent payers. I looked at how much we pay in office rent and I think if we shifted from Nairobi would save quite an amount and also house rent would go down significantly in counties. I would love to settle down somewhere in Laikipia and become a farmer, tht is my lifelong dream. Where would you guys like to settle and why?

Wouldn’t mind moving to the country side, been anxiously waiting for the ICT city to launch then i can move the tech wing of the operation there and also do something (most probably some development) on some ancestral land i have there, but with every day that passes its looking more and more like this ICT city thing was one of those @Meria Mata ghost projects so for now am stuck in NRB.

Anywhere near the slopes of mt Kenya or Nakuru. Lots of trees,lots of weed, minimum population density and I’m good to go.

I have very bad experiences of shags while growing up. Wouldn’t wish to retire away from an urban area or at the very least, let it be peri urban.
