Secession; On This Day of the Death of a Good Man

Forget the fact that the ‘seceding’ counties are some of the poorest, except may be for Mombasa. Forget the fact they are dependent for just about everything else on the Central gavament, including professionals such as teachers and doctors. Forget that they do not have any significant cash-crops and minerals. Forget that at least one and possibly two of the so-called Coastal Republic counties are controlled by Jubilee. Forget that mainstream Kenya will not let go of the port of Mombasa without a fight. Etc etc ad nauseum…

BUT DO JOHO AND KINGI KNOW THAT NO REGION CAN SUCCESSFULLY SECEDED ANYWHERE ON EARTH IF IT DOES NOT RECEIVE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION? As in, you can stand on the mountain top and say that you have seceded, BUT until you are recognised by the AU and the UN it’s all for nought?

Somaliland (I think) has been seceding froM Somalia for the last 20 years and nobody recognises it; according to the UN it does not exist, cannot receive loans or development assistance except for humanitarian aid.

So, poor Coast (or any other region for that matter) that wants to secede will similarly go for 40 years without development aid, trade agreements, foreign investment, etc etc etc and without international recognition? Given the deep humanitarian problems of these regions (disease, high mortality ratios, poverty, lower education levels etc etc) you want to tell me it will be better for their ‘citizens’ to separate from Kenya?

And that’s even before we come to the nitty gritty. How to share out the national assets AND LIABILITIES. How to separate couples who have married across ethnic lines. How to divide the military and other armed units. Who will occupy Nairobi (Moscow, anyone? Nairobi will be the capital of Kenya). Etc etc etc.

I think we are better together, despite all our problems. I saw the Nasa brigade paying condolences to the late Daktari and thought, may be if we put all this shit behind us we could start seeing that we are one people?

Kenya is better together.

PS: An age old trick for any country, when in crisis, start a war. Uhuru should order the KDF to bomb the meffi out of Magufool just for fun. The Tanzanians can’t fly their old MIGs to save their lives.

Summary?

I think we are better together, despite all our problems. I saw the Nasa brigade paying condolences to the late Daktari and thought, may be if we put all this shit behind us we could start seeing that we are one people?

The only secede and boycott on Press conferences and shoshomedia. However the reality remains the same forever.

If there’s one person nlikuwa naomba kuona sana after Elections ni JOHO…that guy alikuwa anatusi hunye like nonsense…Saa hii akiongea ni mpooooooooooleee…“Tutatumia njia zote za sheria tunazojua”…

Secession talks ni waste of time if you ask me…This guys should be more focused on developing their areas and not wasting money white sands wakikula madathi eti they’re having secession talks…

Onyo imetolewa, it is not going to end well for the leader leading the blind ones if he persists at it. This particular secession has a different motive than is being claimed by its instigator. It should be seen in the same light as what exactly Mwau hopes to accomplish with his petitions. When those who have dirt on you tell you something, you can either listen and comply or ignore and live with any consequences that come your way.
Joho, Kingi push on with secession calls despite protests | Nation

sultan’s territory extended for only ten miles from the sea. We can get them that potion minus Lamu and relocate the kenyan port.

Nooo Afisa, Guka is brief and to the point.

I fully agree with you.

WHAT IF ALL DEPUTY GAVANAS KILLED THEIR BOSSES AND WE HAVE 47 NEW GAVANAS ?

Erase the Grand Wizard of Evil Raila and all is fixed.

I hate you.

Do some research on somaliland, uae leased their port for 30 years and their army is there building it. I have a friend working there and is telling me according to the standard they might give us a run for our money.
Its not recognized but its peaceful and self sustaining

Secession haiwesmake. Good read old man.

Kulikuwa na famine huko mid this year. Apparently, some food aid shipments had to be shipped to Mogadishu instead of Hargeisa and the recipients never got the assistance they needed.

Soja nikusoma hujui kusoma ama ni utundu tu?

Secession should be a last resort, a necessary evil borne out of irreconcilable differences, do those exist for any part of kenya to want to go their way? The honest answer is NO. We enjoy the same rights, similar obligations, the rules are similar to all of us, Joho and Kingi should not be allowed to break up our beautiful country to satisfy selfish interests.

true i was in Hargeisa a couple of months ago n that place i tell you is very different from the war torn Mogadishu, n development is taking precedent, also i noticed an influx of expertrites huko,

What if all the Vice presidents killed their bosses and we have new Presidents?

He’s saying you’ll never become the Inspector General of Police
