Charles Leclerc grabs pole for the Bahrain GP, with Carlos Sainz Jr. starting third.
Of course, I’m still team LH and Mercedes damu, but if Lewis and Russell don’t win this year, I hope it’s either Leclerc or Sainz. Anyone but that thieving Verstappen.
In other news, Carlos Sainz Jr. seems destined for the world championship, judging by the smart career moves he’s been making. In 2018, he moved from Renault to McLaren, even though Renault finished two places above McLaren in the constructors’ championship. Then he moved to Ferrari for the 2021 season, even though a resurgent McLaren had outperformed Ferrari in 2020.
Last year, he outperformed his teammate in his first year with Ferrari. Although Leclerc is still better in terms of raw pace, Sainz is more mature and delivers when it counts. The boy has made some very impressive decisions in the past 4 years.
