Education is so important that I would suggest to the parents and students to repair the school and forget about the govt.
Since they know the govt imewaruka and we all know how dishonest the leaders are, let the community repair the school juu masomo will eventually benefit them, not the govt.
Crying to a govt that does not care is futile.
The community has carpenters, mansions et al who should simply open their eyes, swallow their pride and egos and build that school - because they can.
Education, I repeat, will benefit them, not the govt.
this requires L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P.
The attitude of the community can be told by the state of the schools. Where I come from, there are mud classrooms. Every Friday afternoon is dedicated to cleaning and patching up. Kids go with cow dung and ashes. They plaster floors and sweep them clean with ashes. When walls fall off or roofs start leaking, the headmaster calls on parents for a work day to come and fix. There is no excuse and people cannot just sit and wait to receive all the time. It’s important to show effort.
niaje MJ…I want to show some effort.
I beg, please do not derail such an important thread.
On point @Adeudeu. This parents pia wamelalia sana
Come to think of it, you are right it requires leadership. But politicians are not the leaders they should look up to. There has to be one or two wise men who can lead the community. If they have none, they deserve what they have.
Sadly it might be that those who have ‘made it’ have invested in Nairobi and other counties or worse - left the country.
Hizo nondescript schools ndio zinatumiwa na majamaa kukamua pesa ya fpe, cdf na development kitty za county governments. Hao wazazi na walimu wako so downtrodden and disengaged hata hakuna ambaye anaweza kuuliza maswali. Kingi na education officials wamezipamper kweli kweli zile Shule ambazo ziko barabarani na za town!
Yes @MaryJane . I don’t know what the parents do for a living but the outlook of the kids also portrays them to be very negligent.
sawa mrembo…
Si chupilee inafaa kujenga shule. This are projects that are supposed to taken care of by their respective devolved county govts
There was a teacher who was using a piece of carton as a board nikashangaa, hata blackboard ni expe sana kununua? I was shocked to see both teachers and pupils in the school do not have latrines. Do you have to wait for the government to build you one? Some people are just too lazy.
