Kulikuwa na pilot phase ya UHC huko Machakos, Isiolo, Nyeri, na Kisumu. To cut a long story short, the UHC pilot flopped spectacularly. Washikadau, ufisadi na ukosefu wa ufadhili ziliangusha UHC ya serikali ya hendshaki.

Nabii1 has attempted to course correct by increasing NHIF contributions, bringing key stakeholders on board and enacting necessary legislation. Only time will tell whether KK’s UHC version is an avenue for corruption or a step in the right direction.
