I am not exactly a Safaricom enthusiast, but it’s good to give credit where it’s due.
In the recent past, Mpesa agents have been registered to some service thru their various dealers to receive a float boost on weekends.
Means,Saf sends some amount thru the dealer, based on their evaluation on the needs of the agent every Thursdays to help the agent do as many transactions on weekends. Ndiyo ukienda pale to deposit usiambiwe “Sina float”. They deduct it on Mondays. I guess it’s up to 100K for now.
They don’t charge.
Hence my use of “In the recent past”, and the catch was to show much it’s gonna take to disrupt the mobile money services by Safaricom, not by just scrapping off charges or lowering them.
