Safaricom to buy M-Pesa for Sh1.3 billion

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/news/Safaricom-to-buy-MPesa/539546-5129488-4jd20kz/index.html

Income from M-Pesa from just last year =sh 75 Billion so Safaricom pays 2% of that to Vodafone which is Sh1.5 Billion.

But Safaricom wants to buy the rights to Mpesa platform for sh 1.3 Billion from Vodafone which is less than what they paid out in Mpesa rights to Vodafone in just a year. What am i missing here. Vodafone will surely reject the offer…?

Pesa kutoka kwa jacket unaweka kwa trouser

Whatever happened to the inventor of mpesa? Does he/she have a slice in this funny deal?

Th

The peasant who originated with the invention is still somewhere in Eastlands trying to make the ends meet… Hii ni Kenya my fren

:D:D vile Safaricom wali ruka story

From this article, government owns 35%, Vodafone 35%, and Vodafone 5%. Who owns the remaining 25%? It must the moi’s and other kanu remnants since safaricom entered the Kenyan market wakiwa serikali.

Mimi naweza raise 1.5Mbirrion ninunue mpesa…hakuna tender majamaa?

the other 25% is owned by the public through shares

Did you hear of an IPO some time in your life?
Hii Kenya kuna upuzi mwingi sana. nkt.

Nonsense, you didn’t understand my question, stop trying to teach me what IPO is, kumbafu. Of that 25%, how much went to the moi remnants at the time, ati 25% went to the public, iyo ni upuzi. So to you public includes the Moi’s and his cronies??? The normal public wako na less than 10%, the other “public” the Moi’s and his cronies control more than 15%. Understand post before trying to educate me on basics, which are obvious

Just Look Up For Mobitelea Ltd kitu 3-5%…Alafu kuna an investment vehicle na around 12%…Hiyo inabaki ndo I think Ni public

Keep calm buda. It was 5% and the vehicle was/is called Mobitelea.

Go enlighten yourself about IPOs.
The 25% that was sold to the public came from the government. It was the government offloading its shares, not Moi.
This was sold at NSE to whoever wanted to buy.

The story about Moi and Mobitelea had nothing to do with this 25%. Kumbaf. Why are you this dumb?

Moi and ‘his cronies’ story comes in the ownership of Vodafone Kenya Ltd. The company that owned 40% of Safaricom.
Wacha nikufunze kama mtoto wa miaka tatu.

Safaricom Ownership at the time.
Vodafone Kenya - 40% (Vodafone, Moi etc)
GOK - 35%
Public - 25% (Sold by GOK at the IPO)

Ukikosa kushika hio, funga account.

Actually safaricom had an IPO back in around 2007 huko…

The other shares are on the Nairobi Stock Exchange Dude!!!

Are you retarded???
The list of the largest owners of the shares of Safaricom shares on the NSE do Not include Moi.
Ignorance is your Forte clearly.
Moi and his cronies own Mobitelea. Which in turn owns 10% of Vodafone Kenya which used to own 40% of Safaricom.
Not a single share that they own can be traded as Vodafone Kenya is a private company and it has never had an IPO.
