Safaricom to buy M-Pesa for Sh1.3 billion

Income from M-Pesa from just last year =sh 75 Billion so Safaricom pays 2% of that to Vodafone which is Sh1.5 Billion.

But Safaricom wants to buy the rights to Mpesa platform for sh 1.3 Billion from Vodafone which is less than what they paid out in Mpesa rights to Vodafone in just a year. What am i missing here. Vodafone will surely reject the offer…?

Go enlighten yourself about IPOs.
The 25% that was sold to the public came from the government. It was the government offloading its shares, not Moi.
This was sold at NSE to whoever wanted to buy.

The story about Moi and Mobitelea had nothing to do with this 25%. Kumbaf. Why are you this dumb?

Moi and ‘his cronies’ story comes in the ownership of Vodafone Kenya Ltd. The company that owned 40% of Safaricom.

The list of the largest owners of the shares of Safaricom shares on the NSE do Not include Moi.
Ignorance is your Forte clearly.
Moi and his cronies own Mobitelea. Which in turn owns 10% of Vodafone Kenya which used to own 40% of Safaricom.
Not a single share that they own can be traded as Vodafone Kenya is a private company and it has never had an IPO.
