safaricom has the 20 MBPs internet package whereby i get a router and am given 1000 GB bundles. i prefered this package which i want to buy . according to the package am given 1000 gb 20 mbps for a month but after i reach the 1000 GB limit the speed reduces to 3mbps.
MY QUESTION IT ELDERS
1 does Safaricom throttle torrrents ? will i be able to download movies at 20 mbps ama watanyonga ? the last time i used safaricom internet ku download movies it was very slow while telkom was fast
Torrent speed will depend on other factors outside your 20mbps. So it won’t be as fast as you hope.
You can’t move with the router without calling safaricom to reinstall
Best portable package is your phone.
Torrenting content is dependent on the number of seeders available. So if the seeders are few ata speed yako iwe 1000mbps bado download speed itakua tu slow. Then naskia saf hunyonga torrent sijawahi jaribu iyo mimi hufanyanga direct downloads. I convert torrents to direct download then I download at my ISP speeds. Movies za 10GB nadownload na Telkom usiku huchukua around 30 minutes.
Wanayonga
Yeah but you gonna have to alert saf in advance wadisconnect from fibre. Siku izi ukilostisha router kuna fees
Airtel 3GB per day for 30 days @ 1k. Telkom 100GB at 1500
Saf tumia tu kama unastream content but for direct download/torrenting airtel and Telkom ni wasito kwa hiyo sector.Airtel ina torrent adi mchana top speeds while Telkom threshold hukua after 1:00 am.
Torrents will still download at an okay speed.
It’s probably easier to follow Sambambas suggestion to solve your movies issue.
As for browsing, it’s easier to just buy bundles. You can have spare simcards to see which telecom is best wherever you are.
