Opinion polls and ratings in Kenya are propaganda tools. They need to be regulated. What are they hiding that they can’t share their data. Opinion polls was a tool used in 2005-2007 to mind condition Kenyans on who were the leading contestants. For example the first poll showed watermelon as favourite to succeed former President Kibaki. Money changed hands and reversal of the poll done. Babuon led in the polls from there on and that persuaded people.
There is no hiding anymore, if they can’t publish their raw data then this unregulated propaganda has to stop.

If opinion polls don’t mean much,
- Why are we discussing them for three pages,
- Why are the two infotrack and Ipsos the most active?
Opinion polls are just that. A gauge of opinion. It can never accurately predict the outcome of an election but it is a very good guide to what the outcome is “likely” to be. Asking for details, sample size, financiers e.t.c is just trash talk by those who view the outcome as not very desirable to them.
It really annoys me when people discredit the polls, not because they know what they are talking abouyt, but usually because it does not favour their positions. Polls are not about beauty, they are about just that, opinion amongst the sample. I guess anyone who does not agree with a poll outcome can do their own. Regulation my ass. We cant regulate the more important things but we are yapping about regulating opinions. What nonsense.
