First lemme say that I am a huge fan of Ruth Matetes dad Mr. Amunga who is a brilliant thespian and a very affable and handsome man. Hot dad. So I may not be all the way not biased here.
I wasn’t a follower of TPF so I don’t know Ruth much. Her relationship with her dad is just what every girl dreams of. Ruth was born to high school kids which happens more than you can imagine in luhya land. Her mom got married to another older guy while pregnant to survive. The guy was an alcoholic and battered Ruth’s mom through out the pregnancy. After she was born she and her mom would continue to be beaten for 7 years until Ruth’s biological dad Mr. Amunga took her in, his wife hated her and would beat her to the point of breaking the mwiko wooden spoon. Oh her mom died of domestic violence 7 months after she moved in with her biological dad.
I think that alot of adults assume that trauma doesn’t affect children bcz they are children. The truth is it affects kids more than anyone. A small defenseless child being beaten up by people 3,4,5 times their size is unimaginable to a child. What happens is that the child stores up rage and suppresses it and then goes into survival mode. Survivors of war do the same, they do not process their terror and anger. To survive they cannot feel otherwise they would be overwhelmed.
Research has shown that survivors of trauma, even have miscarriages because of trauma that happened years ago. We have seen war veterans who become violent back home and even kill once the trauma of war that’s been suppressed comes out. Very ordinary situations like minor disagreements can turn into life and death situations as the suppressed rage and loss boils over.
I don’t see the case going anywhere but she has a valid defense incase of any eventuality. I wish her well and pray that she will get the healing she needs. RIP to Pastor Beloved Jackson and his family back in Ninegeria.
