Due to the S 400 they are likely to use stand off tomahawk missiles. The flight profile of a cruise missile makes it difficult to intercept once fired even for an S 400. Their best hope is point defence weapons, the advantage is they know what is coming and where to expect it,most likely at the airbase that the suspected attack was launched from,that takes out the aspect of surprise.
