Just like the Two Rivers Mall caused a stir in Kenya’s Capital, Rupa’s Mall is set to do the same in the Capital of the North Rift. Many Eldoret dwellers and visitors alike have noticed the magnificent structure coming up along Uganda Road opposite Ken-Knit. This is the Rupa’s Mall.
Consumerism ni bubble tena? Yaani unasema kununua sabuni, mkate, maziwa na tp ni bubble waiting to burst?
Lakini hii mall tenants watajaa kweli au that other building ni office block
No. I don’t mean consumerism is a bubble. Lol, how is that even possible. I’m referring to the construction of Malls everywhere as a bubble waiting to burst, Most malls are empty especially in Nairobi.
People started upuzi ya stalls in nairobi and it spread to karatina. Everyone who was building business units turned them into stalls, some renovated existing business rentals into stalls. Guess what? Half of them are empty coz no one is ready to pay a 2 by 2 metres space for 8k while a 10 by 8 is going for the same price. Na nyeri pia same case, thats a summary of how a bubble bursts
Maoni tu, but to create the market, a way may be to make credit very easy and convenient to acquire, and condition people into being reliant on credit. Only later will people realise that easy and convenient credit is very expensive in the long run.
