Rostam Aziz, Tanzania's second richest man, its not easy for Tanzanians to do business or invest in Kenya

Regardless of his shortcomings as a human being, he has a point on Kenya’s bureaucracy.

I believe he partially owned Rift Valley Railways at some point via Mirambo Holdings

Now this is the truth and nothing but the truth that the Kikuyu community in Serena needs to hear. Kickbacks, licences, taxes, high cost of power and stuff is scaring away investors.

Kenya is a true bandit economy. Ikiwa birrionaire pia anazungushwa hivi, na mkulima wa mapato ya chini? In this country, one government agency will give you a licence to do business only for a different one to come and accuse you of engaging in illegal practices. Having said that, the birrionaire also stretches the truth about Tanzania’s business climate. We all know how badly they treat Kenyans.

He is viewed as a threat by the local elite juu amekafunga kuliko hata Jayden. He is a true billionaire USD. Kule TZ these Indians wamekalia nyeuthi properly, that’s why they can accumulate such monstrous fortunes. Tanzanian government officials are their errand boys. Huku Kenya wealth is more distributed and that makes it harder even for a billionaire like him call any shots. There are fewer pushovers here than there are in TZ juu controllable peasants are fewer among the political class.

atainvest na gas aje alafu raira apeleke mbiachara wapi? that was a message that the gas slot was already occupied.

Who are the gatekeepers of gas business in Kenya?

My thinking too. Badala ya Jayden kumshow hapo ni kunoma, ni mzururo tu anapigwa

Business on this side of the world is still asset heavy meaning physical capital investments compounded by razer thin disposable income creates the perfect storm that is “Gate Keeper Capitalism” . When you add the fact that we don’t invent new solutions, the only way for practically anyone to make money is to forcefully insert themselves on your balance sheet to get a piece of the pie.

Shait na bado kra wanataka kufungia watu pin zao

home truths

Alafu peasants wanafikiria wakina Raila ni adui.:D:D:D

grainbulk ndiyo bazenga wa gas Kenya…a major backer financially of the the stingy one…and others…

So hapo rostam hadanganyi… roadblocks ziko kibao hapo.

Come to think of it…why does lpg not flactuate monthly price wise like other petroleum products?

All this time i thought it was vice versa kwamba wealth is unequally distributed here. Huyu na yule bakhresa na pia dewji ndio wameshikilia uchumi wao magololi.

even in IT a field where one would think innovation would trump political and tribal patronage - hapa Kenya bandit economy is real, you have a small number of bandits, who control who makes money - I look at those so called business movers represented hapo with disgust, a very selfish tribal cabal. Wacha tu ipunguze harisa

One thing we should all appreciate about shiny eyes. They have led the penetration into economic ventures which in many other African countries are the monopoly of Bahindi, Lebanese, jungus and marabus. Kenya has one of the most Blacknalized economies in Africa. If shiny eyes were a significant number in DRC, that economy would already have hit the stratosphere

Rostam Aziz will be matched dollar for dollar by Kenyan business moguls such as Njoroge wa Equity

Don’t get me wrong. Wealth is still unequally distributed even here. However, there is no dollar billionaire in KE yet they have like 2 or 3 Indians who are dollar billionaires.

Iranian, 5th generation Tanzanian when the family started doing business Jomo kenyatta’s parents were in diapers or whatever babies of those days wore grass thatches

Either way. Kenya iko shida. Not only for foreigners but also local investors.

I have witnessed departments within Kebs fight over bribe juu wameskia minimum ni 5million.

Thanks CS Munya intervened but the culprits are still in the office. No corruption case or jail time.

I thought competition is healthy and advantage to the consumer

Kenya kuna dynasties. If they smell a threat utazungushwa sana. They like to remain on top.

I didn’t know Kenyans tuko wanoma ivo tunafanya birrionea atake kulia. Seems he isn’t used to being told NO.

Already KDF was sent there juzi. President Uhuru’s trip to DRC wasn’t a waste of time.

Alikuwa ameenda kutafuta biashara.
