I thought in the old testament the first month was supposed to be April. I may be wrong wacha @messiahette akuje atufundishe
And everyone now follows it including Muslims and Hindus, that’s how powerful The Catholic church is. Even the very Bible that they produced is used to fight them.

Actually, contrary to what many assume (including “Catholics”), the Roman Catholic church did not write “The Bible”. They were heavily involved, like followers of Judaism (Jews) and followers of “The Way”, in meetings that agreed upon what books to include and which ones to exclude in a common book, which was to be named as the Bible. These books were gathered from manuscripts that contained laws to the Jews, written and preserved by the children of Israel like judges and prophets. One time, when Jesus was teaching, He referred to those books, which they all knew as the authentic text. They were later put together and called books of the Old Testament. Note that, even in those early days, there we people who would attempt to declare some writings are authentic but they would be rejected if they were not part of these agreed upon books.
After Jesus Christ ascended and His disciples took up the work of spreading His message, they would wtite letters to certain churches. These letters were later shared among many other churches and eventually settled upon as Scriptures then included in the set of book now kown as the New Testament. The difference between all these books put together in the Bible (referred to as canonical) and those that were excluded (usually referred to as the Apocrypha) is that the canonical books were agreed to have been inspired by the Holy Spirit while the non-canonical were not. These were to be used as simply historical books for learning purposes. Therefore, most or all Protestant Bibles do not include books of the Apocrypha, while Roman Catholic Bibles include them.
The Apocrypha are used in the liturgy, and they have some very good teachings too i.e the book of Wisdom.

A simple answer to your question is that they are the descendants of a man who was called Jacob.
He was the son of Isaac and had a brother called Esau. He was a schemer and drove a hard bargain when he was focused on something he wanted. However, this nearly cost him his life when he ‘stole’ a blessing from his father which was meant for his brother, aided by his mother Rebecca. He ran away to save his skin. Long story short, later on, when he decided to return, on his way, he had an encounter with an angel of God who he wrestled. The guy’s Jujitsu skills were so good that he had the heavenly being pinned. To get out of that fix, the angel ‘cheated’ and nearly broke the guys hip. But before they parted, he renamed him from Jacob, which meant schemer or supplanter, to Israel, which meant one who wrestles or struggles with God.
So there you have it, the ‘real’ Jews are descendants of this dude.
