Rogue Cyber attacks threaten.........

I have good reason to think that my computer has been compromised. I was just preparing a contract document and from nowhere I have just seen a notification that a screen-shot has been saved in your dropbox and I am dead sure that I did not take the screenshot. I have erased the screenshot but I fear that some up to no good matafaka is accessing my private information.

[li]How do I secure my computer? Ignorant me thought that covering the webcam with insulation tape was sufficient. [/li][li] Is it possible to remove hiyo kitu-(for lack of the correct term) that is unlawfully taking my screen shots or even getting more sensitive information like passwords… internet browsing history…[/li][/ol]

Then go to the task manager processes and look for a suspicious process that is running

I think so too

@Deorro saidia huyu mchamaa tafasali.

Once nilijifanya CSI and I attempted this, ended up deleting a system file and the machine crushed, how do you differentiate between a normal process and a suspicious one

An that paranoid tendency has me believing you stole some company secrets yourself @4makind . Now you think someone is onto you.

I am very sure that I did not hit the print screen button… I hope this is the case

I own the company that I work for

I have checked the task manager and I have found no suspicious process running, could be that @fishmonger and shocks were accurate.

Thank you guys… Ambieni Auntie awapatie mbili mbili on my account. Nitamsort kacontract kakiiva

Have a backup drive if all goes toast Mr. It could be handy in a bad day.

If you normally go there, then it should just be visible that it ain’t a normal process…

i dont know why i am laughing loud.
a screenshot you took on your phone has been integrated with dropbox. Do you have dropbox installed on your phone? i know you connected your phone to a wifi then it sent your image to your dropbox account then it notified you over you PC.

Yes I have integrated my phone with my dropbox…but it was not that. I checked the screenshot and it was from the computer and not the phone. Let me just assume that I hit print screen button by mistake because at this rate I might find myself also covering the phone camera with insulation tape.

An attacker would not save the document in a visible location on your computer and wouldn’t care to notify you that they have take screen shots. Secondly, when you get such prompts and you go clicking on strange documents that’s when you get caught because an attacker giving you notifications is just trying to bait you.

Good point!

It’s possible that your machine has a bot installed in it and someone could be controlling it remotely. Scan the machine with an updated antivirus and check your control panel to remove any suspicious apps
