Road Courtesy

Having used the Kenyan roads for a while, I would say no one would need anyone’s interpretation to see that 95% of kenyan drivers never follow the road rules, everyone seem to be doing bad because others are doing.
However, in as much as this madness kwa barabara has become dominant, I believe drivers ought to have an obvious sense of road courtesy in life threatening situations. For example, driver mwenzako anaweza fanya overtaking miscalculation and in the process risk a head on collision with oncoming vehicle, in such situations, a driver should obviously pave way for his fellow driver by slowing down or at least kanyaga nje ya lane.

Sadly, majority of drivers kwa barabara hawana hii courtesy kabisa, yaani mtu anakataa kukupea nafasi especially Hawa watu wa probox na long distance buses, you literally have to force your way in to save your ass, na hii ndio inaleta accidents mingi sana kwa hizi barabara zetu, hio kukataa kuweka kiburi kando na kusaidia mwenzako.
Yes, we need dual carriegeway connecting major cities and towns to significantly reduce accidents in our roads, but we also need road courtesy amongst drivers

Courtesy and being able to predict the behaviour of other road users, always helps alot.

Not to discriminate lakini hio kiburi ya kunyimana njia nimeiona sana na ladies. They look straight ahead amehug steering wheel very determined to box you out. Hahaha I find it amusing.

Hata Mimi nilikuja ku realize kumbe there are really rough lady drivers on our roads

They are teaching you a lesson, not lacking courtesy.

No, another wrong move there. Pia wewe mwenye unadai kufunzana lesson you are also putting your life at risk, because mtu ataamua badala ya head on collision, Ni heri kuingia kwa lane kwa lazima na hivo ndio utagongwa. Na ni kitu unge avoid by a little courtesy.

The tongue twist in this though

And why are kenyan drivers always in a hurry? Its a beautiful sunny sunday afternoon on a beautiful road yet someone is doing 140. Naelewa it its a psv

Yes. It doesnt make you less of a driver paving way for another person to enter in or save his ass.

Try hooting and begging an Indian /Asian descent driving a Mahindra or Noah even if a rocket if coming to your lane.

Unavunja sheria juu wewe ndo uko na haraka kutuliko alafu you want me to extend courtesy? Uko na mchezo sana buda.

Then expect the other vehicle to join your lane, whether you’ll be there or not.

You drive carelessly and then expect other road users to save you from your stupidity?

Of course I’ll give way incase of an imminent collision. But before that atawashiwa mataa na kupigiwa horn na trailer ashutuke kidogo. What OP wants, is us the sane drivers to be rewarding bad behavior. Hiyo hapana.

You are also wrong to think you ain’t putting your life in danger kwa kukataa kupeana barabara. Barabara inakuwanga risky kwa kila mtu, from mwenye makosa na mwenye hana makosa, so it is upon you to save your ass from someone else mistake

Kuwa disciplined wewe mwenyewe, inaanza na wewe, piga mahesabu zako fiti, ukiona kunanuka peana nafasi. For reckless drivers who take part in this madness, abuse them, mimi hivo ndo ufanya, akileta ngori toa panga

Real observation. Hakuna mwafrica hupea mhindi njia especially stretch ya 1st and 6th Avenue, Limuru road. Reason; wahindi ni watiaji hata kama umeguza bumper and no scratch lazima angoje police.

Wahindi ni washenzi, kuna mmoja alipark katikati ya barabara akakuja kuniambia kama sijui kwendesha gari town ningeiacha nyumbani, nlicheka tu.

ukiwa driving school ,you are advised wewe ndio only sobber driver

Jamaa anaharakisha kuenda kudinya Ma-lier kabla ya kurudi kwa pipi.
