Rising inequality in Germany.

A very interesting documentary on the rise of inequality in Deutschland.

One sociologist in that documentary posits that ‘dynastic wealth entrenches inequality!’

Yaani inherited wealth entrenches inequality and poverty!

And its quite true. At independence all African Kenyans were more or less started at zero hour with more or less equal wealth. Then within 50 years some were billionaires whereas the majority had zero.

Opportunities skewed towards a few well connected individuals, well we all know the story. It happened in Germany as well after WW2. Old money pulled opportunities to itself.

But the bit we ignore here in Kenya is the inheritance bit. By passing on wealth the heirs have to use unfair tactics to stay at the top and to keep other ambitious asses at the bottom thence breeding corruption, power control etc!

In Germany like in Kenya, the rich are in real estate now. They own and speculate on millions of feet of living space that the poor can’t afford. And like many have postulated if this situation goes unresolved, revolutions are a coming, pretty soon!

One can even see the insane riots in France and Germany. Hata hapa Kenya one can feel the rumblings. The inequality is too much.

Sisi machokosh tuko tuu sawa.

How in the hell did we get to watch the same documentary within hours…?
That aside, the dude who owns a forest intrigued me.

Kenyans can hardly revolt from themselves/their behaviors. Don’t expect too much out of these “other directed” individuals.

We have great inequality all over the world from USA to the poor third world countries

Rather be poor in germany than rich in kenya

Saw something similar in the Economist.
But as John Oliver says, the only thing keeping the poor from revolting is they hope one day they will get rich and start enjoying the perks of the rich.
But there is also another inequality rarely talked about, that of brains. They say two campus trained parents pass the genes and upbringing to their kids that other parents cannot match. Hence on average, kids from such parents are heads and shoulders above other kids
