Bio: Boxer Shiva Shiva Thapa is one of India’s biggest hopes at Rio Olympics. All of 22, the Assam boy is currently world No.6 in the International Boxing Association (AIBA) rankings and is only the third Indian boxer ever to have won a World Championships medal (a bronze in 2015 Doha edition). Add to that, he is a two-time Asian Championships medallist (a gold in 2013 and a bronze in 2015)
Vikas Krishan Yadav
Discipline: Boxing
Bio: Vikas Krishan Yadav is one of India’s best hopes for a medal in Rio Olympics. He won his first international medal by clinching a gold at the 2010 Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Tehran. The Bhiwani boxer also won gold at the Youth World Amateur Boxing Championships in 2010, another gold medal in the Lightweight category at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. At the next Asian Games in Incheon, he clinched a bronze medal.

SSP Chowrasia
Bio: Son of a greenskeeper at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Shiv Shankar Prasad Chawrasia’s rise to fame is a well known rags-to-riches story in Indian golf. The 38-year-old, who is now regarded as a veteran on the Indian golf circuit, spent his initial years as a caddie for golfers. Chawrasia gained prominence when he won the 2008 Indian Masters title, defeating big names on his way.
Anirban Lahiri
Bio: Reigning Asia No.1 and World No.62 Anirban Lahiri is a winner of seven international titles and will be spearheading India’s campaign at Rio. Last year, Lahiri created history by becoming the first Indian to be a part of the International Team at the Presidents Cup. He has had a long spell in the world’s top-50 in 2016 and had all but sealed his Olympic berth at the start of the year
