The broad perspective of political ideologies is divided into two, Right and left. This came about during a debate held in France a while back, some two or three hundred years back (I am not sure of the date). People who supported a certain set of ideas sat on the left while the others sat on the right- that was the birth of right wing and left wing.
Today the ideologies of the left are represent by Democrats in the US and Labour in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia etc. The right is represented by Republicans in the US and conservatives in UK, Europe, Canada, Australia etc. In Kenya/Africa due to corruption we are not divided along those ideologies, I will explain. Let me first define the two.
The left wing, supports more government control. This brings about free education, free healthcare, progressive taxes, protection of indigenous innovation from multinationals, freedom of worship. Government subsides to the small businesses. In short Left wing ideologies supports the middle class and the poor, it pinches the rich.
The right wing ideologies promotes the rich and pinches the poor. E.g most of you are working in companies which are making millions/billions of money per month, while they are paying you peanuts. Don’t you think they should be taxed higher, like 10 times more than you, and the government uses that money to build roads, build and equip hospitals and schools for people who are earning less or don’t have jobs? Left wing ideologies protects the local/indigenous companies by taxing imports higher than goods manufactured locally.
The right wing supports less government control. This includes unchecked capitalism, lower taxes for everyone, promotion of the dominant/govt supported religion in the country, death penalty, etc. This means that you make billions for the company, the directors and shareholders are not taxed gets all the money pays for good schools for their kids, builds infrastructure around their neighborhoods, pay for the best hospitals etc and the gap between the rich and the poor continues winding. Thats what the whites in America wants, that’s what muhindi in Kenya wants. For sure, these companies and multinationals depends on hard working Kenyans, they should give back or pay well. Left wing advocates for better pay while right wing let’s the forces of demand and supply determine the wages. Right wing kills off indigenous companies by allowing competition with the multinationals.
These are the two ideologies that define the world.
In Kenya/Africa, the political devide is not along those lines, it’s more of tribal, not ideology. U can see politicians in Kenya swinging from URP to UDP, one is Republican the other is Democratic (This is just an example there are many others. It doesn’t define my political support in Kenya). The only thing that Kenyan politicians agree on is to loot public funds, they don’t have fixed ideologies.
With the right government, and minimal corruption, the left wing is the best for a country. Canada is more to the left, they have 0% unemployed rate. Germany is to the left they have the best health care systems in the world. Scandinavian nations are all leftists they have the best GDP per capital, meaning people are wealthier there. Kibaki was kenyas most leftist president, we saw free primary education, subsided healthcare, infrastructure blossom etc. Kibaki transformed Kenya. During his time we saw 13% economic growth (with that kind of growth, give us 20 years we would be at per with China). But the jubilee government fucked it up.

You can just Google political compass test then answer the question, the system is gonna plot your position according to your answers. Post one here if you succeed!
