It’s hard to understand how this country is led. Leaders exist to steal from Kenyans.

Wanauza gunia 3500 mtu akashika 200 bags zaweza mletea faida in future ama atachomeka?

Maximum production cost per acre is 50k( from land lease to drying & packing).

If a farmer manages an average of 20 bags per acre then sell at 3,500 per bag, he will still make a profit of 20k per acre. The more the acres, the bigger the profit.

Peasant farmers are the ones complaining.

Aiiiii 20K per acre after how long?

To own 10 acres one must be very wealthy. So 10 acres will give him around 200k after every three or six months? Hapo hakuna biashara

Peasant farming kabisa. 40k per year? So 10 acres is 400k a year?

Though the current price per 90kg bag is 4200. A good farmer should harvest an average of 30 bags per acre( achieved after soil testing, timely planting, using the correct type and amounts of fertilizer ,proper timing of fertilizer application, timely weeding…

I managed an av. Of 29 bags per acre, selling at 4200 = 121k(gross)- 40k( cost of production) = 81k( profit per acre).

…not enough to sustain a family or a bachelor kama @kodiaga in Nairobi. Wueh!!!

If you must grow maize as a cash crop, then do atleast 100 acres to get a profit of about 8M if you sell at 4200 per bag.

ACRES, 100? to make 8M? Without factoring in uncertainities kama kina locust, birds, wezi wa mazao, diseases et al. Mimi nauza nashika plot najenga gorofa kadha pale kayole nakula pole pole nikikimbizana na tenants. That’s a huuuge piece of land.

Locusts Zina Dawa
Loss inayotokana na Ndege Ni negligible
Hakuna wizi kwa ranches. Wizi huwa mahali watu huishi wakiwa congested na tushamba tudogotudogo.

ROI ya maize hupatikana in one year tax free. Plots itakuchukua 8- 10 years.

They plant once per year and therefore the 20k income per acre should be spread over 12 months thus income of about 1,700 per month per acre. 10 acres will give you 17,000 per month. That is why many people prefer to move to urban areas and earn 30k per month.
