TSHALA MUANA, QUEEN OF MUTWASHI…
Very energetic entertainer…
She came…

And…
The curtain has come down,
MHSRIEP
I doubt there’ll ever be a monopoly over the African music scene as the Congolese.
Franco Luambo Makiadi. System, Tshalla and very many legends. Guitarists per excellence. Influencing music in the whole continent and globally.
It’s a shame that we haven’t used such excellence to build an African brand.
Why can’t we have a Rhumba Hall of Fame?
Why are the rights over these pieces of genius in the hands of foreigners?
And why can’t our musicians live as lavishly as foreign ones?
We have wasted a generation, we have wasted our childhood legends, we have made them poor.
Why can’t Kenya even have its own Library of Congress?
The songs defining a people?
Immortalize them in wax or bronze?
And this is not only in music, Africa is killing its sons.
Élisabeth Tshala Muana Muidikay (13 May 1958 – 10 December 2022 ), known professionally as Tshala Muana, was a singer and dancer from DR Congo.
Considered the “Queen of Mutuashi”, a traditional dance music from her native Kasair Region , she was often also called "Mamu National” and The Queen of Mutuwashi .

I have attended several of her live shows and will miss her dearly…
Before her passing , as she drifted more into Politics and Business , She groomed the very able Meje 30 to take over the mantle of Queen of Mutuwashi and elements of her former Band …

Unlike the practice elsewhere in some countries, the Congolese treasure and support their musicians. That is enough honor and appreciation. No need to replicate how others honor their greats.
Yaah …
She had health issues…
But she left her Band in the very capable hands of Meje 30 …

There are very many Africans who treasure Congolese music.
For example, here in Kenya. What’s stopping us from setting up a Hall of Fame for such musicians?
If we say that they aren’t Kenyan, then which Kenyans have ideally captured the heart of the nation through song? Very, very few.
Congolese music isn’t a preserve of the Congolese alone. Most Kenyans identify with Franco or Madilu as a source of entertainment.
A Hall of Fame is more than deserved.
A National Library of Arts is needless to argue about.
We need a proper Hall where legends immortalize themselves. Think of Royal Albert Hall or Carnegie Hall.
There’s so much that we will gain out of such moves.
I think he never meant we copy exactly what others are doing? He simply questioned what Africa is doing, singing along and dancing is not enough.
To add,we aspire to develop but we do not have goals,so anything goes.
We need high iq africans to create an inventory of where we were,we are,we want to be in all aspects.Hii tabia ya hapa na pale hakuna mahali inatupeleka.
Very good.

It is all vanity. Hata uibe mabillioni.
But you are looking at the glass half full. She lived her life to the fullest. She could’ve been just another simple married village girl singing while cooking for her hubby but that was not the life for her. She went out there and conquered the world.
There are so many other photos in between those two you have posted. She didn’t settle for less like any other African girl, she chose to be a trendsetter and has performed before kings and men. Yes for her it can be said, mission accomplished dear girl.
