I really don’t understand how people can bring themselves to believe in God or Allah etc. I don’t have the evidence to prove that God doesn’t exist, but I so strongly suspect he doesn’t & I don’t want to waste my time.
And besides scientists do not join hands every Sunday and sing “Yes gravity is real! I know gravity is real! I will have faith! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down, down. Amen!” If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about the concept. It only means this is a concept that has to be really hammered down into someone… But the more you grow up, the more it doesn’t really make sense.

The Bible has noble poetry in it… and some good morals and a wealth of obscenity, and upwards of a thousand lies.
That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. We cannot run to a book for answers, especially a mad book like that one, everything in it is worse than theoretical… Cannot be traced, just has to be believed in…
I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But as much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking. & no it doesn’t exist in science. What soul means to yall… Is what is termed as conscious in science… And it dies when the brain does…
But I respect the dogmatism of religion and those that believe in it, I just find it impossible to share the same ideals
People are like that. They look towards a leader. the pack leader. And they got to be fighting someone in order for allegiance to be formed. some evil indefatigable being always on the prowl. like the devil. And god has to be an alpha male just to conform to human inclinations. There is nothing in the story that is odd. Just fables by some clever writers meant to appeal to humans. Like Aladdin and the magic lamp, Alibaba and the forty thieves, princess and the frog, jack and the beanstalk, jamba nene and the flying bus, etc.
Isn’t it sad when you have to reason with them when you know very well they won’t listen Coz they are more than blinded by fallacy.
And the most atrocious crimes are also committed in the name of religion…
