So do i…but as long as we keep on bribing the institutions and civil servants…then it will not just simply go away…it is us the citizens who are complacent when it comes to corruption.

You have seen the attitude with us as Kenyans…even right here when people have come asking for advice regarding clearances with government and also about getting paid for their tender supplies to government…people are always advising you to give someone some money to fastrack their payment…

Mad Scientist?

When you see politicians pampering and luring you to vote, then understand that it is not your interests they are safeguarding- it is their selfish interests,
In life, NO ONE will ever pamper you to do something in order for you to gain. Remain in bed and no one will force you to work since no one benefits from your salary. Whenever someone(barring parents) pampers/pleads with you into doing something, know that it is that person who stands to gain not you.
When your wife pleads with you to stop ‘wasting’ money on alcohol, it is not because she expects you to use that money to upgrade your wardrobe----it is because she knows that the money you ‘waste’ on alcohol should be ending up in her purse.
It is the horny teen boy luring and ‘pleading’ with a girl into bed who stands to gain not the girl. In fact, in instances where you stand to gain after doing something, you will meet a million and one obstacles. The politicians now sound like messiahs as they will eventually gain after getting elected. But try winning a contract from the same government that is now sounding like Santa Claus and see how it ends. And if a politician helps you to win a tender, it is only because he expects a commission
A truly dedicated/results oriented leader will not waste his time pleading with his base to register since his followers know too well what they will lose if they do not vote for their leader.
No one can plead with you to close your door before you sleep because you know too well the ghastly consequences of leaving your door open.
If as a politician- whether in Jubilee or Cord- you are such an amazing performer and ‘world leader’, you do not have to remind me to register in order to vote. I will do it on my own.

But in Kenya……….
ION, the season of ‘we’ is with us again. But remember, when you are hijacked by criminals because of insecurity, it is never ‘we’. It is ever ‘I alone without my tribe’s help’.
For those who will vote, vote wisely.

Well said. But for you to stop or reduce the alcohol intake is for your own benefit. You emancipate yourself from mental and economic slavery. Pombe si uji ikikuingia vizuri

It seems like overkill for me to invent any new meaning and the kind folks at Quora have already given it their best shot:

Civic duty refers to actions required by law (ex. court summons to jury duty). Civic responsibility denotes practices associated with being a productive citizen (ex. volunteerism, board service, etc.)
A few examples of civic duties and responsibilities include:

 • Voting (and overall engagement in the political process)
 • Community service / volunteering
 • Military service
 • Jury duty

Civic duty and civic responsibility are mistakenly used interchangeably. Civic duty refers to actions required by law (ex. court summons to jury duty). Civic responsibility denotes practices associated with being a productive citizen (ex. volunteerism, board service, etc.)

Your attempt to revive the mad scientist is hereby summarily rejected.
