David Ndii is misadvising WSR regarding subsidies.
Even in developed countries they are very common inorder to stimulate growth.
What kind of bottom up economy is this?
He might not even be in the picture. Huyo jamaa haambiagwi.

IMF ndio kusema drop fuel subsidy (in July) as a loan condition, by October. Gachagua kept akipayuka (debate and interviews) first thing in office was to “float a 500 birrions bond” for hustler fund, pending bills etc . Sasa, they must first comply with the masters to apply for re-financing .
Expensive fuel looms as IMF drops support for subsidy - Business Daily
“The World Bank and the IMF have gained a bigger say in government policy after Kenya turned to the multilateral institutions for concessional loans in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the revenues and limiting the country’s access to commercial loan markets.
Kenya had kept away from direct budget funding from institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank during former President Mwai Kibaki’s administration, with most of the funds coming in the form of project support. A bigger budget and reduced commercial foreign borrowing due to high interest rates has forced the country to return to these loans.
The multilateral loans come with conditions for the government observe discipline and raise more taxes, cut expenditure and narrow the deficit. The government has been pushed to raise taxes on beer, phones and airtime, introduce digital and corporate minimum taxes, make public servants contribute to their pensions and roll out plans to privatise, merge or close loss-making State corporations.”
Meanwhile in Azimio-land fuel is cheap
Isn’t that true
Mama mbogas didn’t really understand that bottoms-up really meant they lift up their bottoms waingizwe proper. Ngoja tu.
Currently, there are no funds to finance subsidies. That, right there, is the crux of the matter.
65 billion, only 5 billion paid. That’s what Uhuru was doing; living in denial and kicking the bucket so that someone else down the road can sort the mess. How much was spent on Maize subsidies? 7 billion? Where did the maize go to?
despot is not in power anymore… so spare us this BS… We were promised lower prices, who dunnit is not public concern
It’s actually giving excuses by blaming the former gava.
I was specifically replying to your post to show you that Subsidies for are not sustainable in the long run. It is why Munya suspended them. You were arguing that Subsidies are good government policy. Not everything is political cheerleading. There are some things which to date are justifiably being blamed on colonialism; what is so strange about blaming a government that is still partially in office?
Wamesema in six months time kenya will be paradise bwana.
They mismanage the economy for ten years and started living by burrowing here and there unsustainably. suddenly they expect their mess to be cleared in one week or the new adminstration to continue digging the hole. They should shut up, do they expect ruto adminstration to keep burrowing for subsidies.
Too much anxiety. The season of politicking is over. The guy has barely had his first meal in state house. These kind of threads should pop up at least 3 years later.
