I created a site to help agents/home owners post/list their houses for free. Its been a month na imekua hard to convince agents to post a home.
How do I convince them to post?
Also , I’ve realized, for it to workout, I need capital/ama an invester. Kenyatalk kuna yeyote?

Once they can see that, nothing will stop them from coming.

Start by doing this; Nunua Daily Nation on Thursday and key in all the real estate ads from there to create a semblance of an active site. Advertise the site on FB, Twitter and sites like this. On the site, ask those who visit to quote the site as where they got info from when dealing with clients…

  1. Does the site have reasonable traffic? If it had organic traffic, agents will bring themselves.
  2. Does the site have enough listings? If it had lots of listings, it will get traffic.

Now you find yourself in a conundrum.
Agents need traffic to list. Traffic is dependent on listings.

This is where you realize buying a theme and domain name is not starting a business.

Get your boots on the ground. Since no one is listing on the site, you have to make the initial listings yourself. And you need many. Hundreds I would say.

Down the line, you might gain some traction. But that is not guaranteed.

OLX also came to ‘‘help businessmen list their products for free’’, but they still had to spend hundreds of millions on ads.

Chill Mzee that’s not that long.Your site is pretty decent,it will pick up eventually.Use this free time to continually improve the website.My advice is don’t short sell your service.Charge a little something.There is that mindset that free or cheap stuff huwa low quality.It’s a business phenomena ,am sure you’ve had this experience unaenda kwa shop and someone’s quotes a price much lower than what you expected for a product alafu you start being suspicious that it must be of low quality and end up not buying despite product being genuine.The human mind is a strange thing.

Getting people to list have been a challenge so far.

About the site, this is not a theme, I coded almost everything and having little to zero business experience(I just finished my college studies few months ago) I choose to ask here on how thing get done.

i can say I’m learning. And at least I’m better than yesterday.
