[SIZE=4]For the whole of 1998, i sat in a philosophy class. Usually, 3 sessions a week and in November and December we had it daily. See, our exams were administered by an Italian university; global is not easy. I remember this, and it reminds me of a book that was published in 1984 (Important because most of u werent born).
“Ulysses and the Sirens: Studies in Rationality and Irrationality” by someone called Elster (dont mind the spelling).
I wont go into the details but i tell you one thing; it informs my judgement as to what is rational and what is not. Human rationality is not as simple as natural selection. Natural selection is not perfect. How else would you explain @Mkufuu grappling with being a man, eons after he was circumcised? Its clear in the book that the expectation placed on gradient climbing assumed in human thinking is subjective and wrong. To expound, you would expect @Mkufuu with his seniority to have an aura of respect. I am circumcising my outgrower son this year; he has already shown maturity. These two cases of maturity and lack of it, show the imperfection of gradient climbing assumptions.

After high school, many young people would enroll into brotherhood or sisterhood as a means of securing educational opportunities. Such individuals would find their way into church-run colleges even if they had scored D’s.After struggling with impossible books, they would graduate anyway, with questionable and crappy papers. Immediately they landed a job, they would abandon the church calling to rejoin the “world” where they had left. With the world having moved on, they would become misfits, maladjusted, and frustrated with life. My advice to young people joining religious orders; once you go in there is no way out alive.
please do not take this as a personal attack: When you mention '84 as a period when some or most talkers were not born, do you think your story gains any currency?
And if you gonna comment on this thread, do so with some intelligence at the least. This is Penguin’s thread, not simpson’s. Intelligence, intelligence, intelligence
Bingwa, I think you have many battles on your to-do list and you ought to exhaust those one first before you pick up fresh ones. You’re also barking at the wrong tree…I didn’t demote you. Besides, I think S.V is not a bad position to hold in this village.
