“This UN post has been occupied by an African before. My candidature will therefore be a natural progression of African leadership of global organizations ,” said Dr Raila. The former Prime Minister was recently awarded a doctorate degree by the Kumasi University of Engineering and Architecture, Ghana. Dr Odinga (at 79) is uniquely qualified for the UN job. He has vied for the Kenyan presidency five times in the last 25 years.
Dr Raila has hired the firm Instella PLC international (a high powered Swedish consultancy group) to lay the groundwork for this historical move that has received enthusiastic support from UDA bigwigs such as Oscar Pesa, Kimani Machungu (wa Gikambura) and even Rigathi wa Gachamba.
