Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) chief Raila Odinga now says the government is involved in yet another scandal, this one allegedly costing Kenyans Ksh162 billion.
Speaking at Dadra Village in West Ugenya during the burial ceremony of Mama Joyce Aol, who is the mother of veteran journalist David Ohito, Raila stated that SICPA Solutions has pocketed billions of shillings through revenue collected on imports.
The former PM states that the firm – which he says is mandated to monitor the import of counterfeit goods – is currently being investigated for shady deals by the Brazilian government, an issue he claims has led to the impeachment of Brazil’s president.
Nominated MP Oburu Odinga echoed Raila’s remarks, adding that it was [B]peculiar that the Government would pay an international firm to carry out duties that local authorities have been mandated with.
Specifically, Oburu pointed out that Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and Kenya Counterfeit Forensic Authority (KCFA) were carrying out the same role as SICPA Solutions.

Raila always fucks up even when he is winning. If only he had kept his big mouth quiet on the 5 billion saga and let things run their course he would have scored serious political points. Now he goes yapping on about uhuru and his relatives and diverts attention from the whole topic at hand. It’s becoming apparent he is using nation media because his man kantai is the boss there.
And this guy can’t stay the course and finish anything. Now he has started on 162 billion. He yapped about Eurobond then he diverted… mara it was nys, mara iebc… can’t finish anything. he’s like a warthog or a small baby always losing focus. He is burning himself while he thinks he is burning uhuru. He is playing very dangerous politics his businesses are probably tied up with the President’s businesses. This guy is truly daft. And he forgets he hasn’t answered that kencargo question.
He already had uhuru by the balls with the whole NYS saga but instead of capitalizing with the eurobond saga (which he had no proof) he called for demonstrations over iebc, people got killed and he cannibalized himself yet again by making Uhuru look like a very safe option.
And why does he do stuff without any proof to start with? Now holes are being poked into the 5 billion saga. And why does he always feel the need to show his hand? kama unaangusha serikali, be discreet. Now it appears he has a hand in all this purported scandals.

If only he could control the insatiable greed and corruption brazenly being carried out in Cord controlled Counties, then he could be taken seriously on what he talks about.
Sadly, whenever there a coffin with a body infront of him, he suddenly undergoes a transformation that makes him utter things that would have had greater impact if only he had waited and thought them out and then presented them out.

What was he to do? He was always frustrated by the PNU side of the coalition. Martha Karua was the gang leader. Waititu and the fellows thwarted his attempts at upgrading Kibera, for example. What would he have done with KRA that was brimming with Kyuks?! Njiraini, a Kibaki appointee, oversaw the whole thing. Besides, the work of the prime minister was to CO-ORDINATE and SUPERVISE the functions of the government. What powers did he have to overule the deal? The deal was signed chini ya maji even before the company was cleared.
Am not saying he’s clean but hapa you point is baseless.
Ati what was he to do? Right now Raila is not in office, has a minority in parliament but he has managed to get his way on things like IEBC reforms and raising the temperature on Eurobond saga. Basically he has frustrated Jubilee more than he did to Kibaki when he was a PM and had majority in parliament. So crying frustration is just an excuse. Was he also frustrated by PNU in revealing shady deals in ministry of land or immigration docket?
This SCIPA thing I have been following and yes it’s pocketing money after every excise stamp KRA sells to beer manufacturers. But the same manufacturers save for Cocacola are okay with the system coz it eradicates counterfeits. They even recorded increase in sales since the introduction of the new stamps.
