Human beings are peculiar creatures. They will always find a way of feeling better or more superior to others around them. Take for example this phenomenon of a funny habit of ‘racism’ within a race. Like in the African race, a Somali will tend to feel superior to aTaita because the Somali has fairer looks and silky hair. On the other hand, a Taita will feel superior to a Turkana/Pokot because the latter has a darker skin and ‘gathangari’ hair. The same thing is replicated in the Indian society where they practice segregation using the caste system.

It all boils down to differences. human beings identify what is different and use it to discriminate. It has been the problem in Somali. Same tribe, same language, same religion, same looks, but just differences in clans.

Society in its structure is hierarchical. The hierarchy begins with wealthy white old male. Then white young male. Hivyo. So the closer you are to the top, the higher you are on the hierarchy. Remember that majority of the world was colonised by whites. And the whites ingrained it in their psyche that the more white you look the higher you are on the pyramid. So if your hair is nearer to a white person’s or your facial features or your skin tone then you are superior. It’s so ingrained that it’s unconscious. It’s reflex almost. Even very young kids know the hierarchy. House niggas were mulatto, field niggas inferior. Tutsis were considered superior bcz their facial features are nearer to whites than hutus. It’s the way of the world what can anyone do about it?

In Europe you can be discriminated for having Slavic look.
