Race & The Somali Psyche

Why I hate Arabs and their supremacist ideology in our Somali culture
[/I]
[FONT=Book Antiqua]Arabs are the most fascist ethnic group in our modern time. Arabs, like Nazis, like to spread their culture and their way of life through the religion of Islam. Unlike Nazis, Arabs disguise their fascism and supremacist ideology under Islam. Like Nazis in the early twentieth century, they preach that the Arab race are the superior race, their culture, and their origin is the best the world ever known. Just like how Hitler encapsulated his supremacist ideology in Mein Kampf, Arabs also encapsulated their supremacist in the Quran; telling you that if you are not Arab, you are not the chosen people in God’s eyes. If you read the Quran, you could see the hateful manifesto masquerading as religion. When you read the Quran, you will learn that Arabs are the best people God ever created, just like Hitler believed that Aryans are the best people God ever created, you also will learn that in order to be in God’s graces, you have to learn The Arabic language, and imitate the way Arabs live and their culture, and most importantly, take Arabic names.

One of the reasons, our Somali culture is forgotten and wiped out in history is because of this supremacist ideology. To eliminate our history, Arabs and their Somali mercenaries, convinced poor Somalis peasants to take Arab names and learn the Arabic language. Mercenaries, convinced many Somalis that they are Arabs, and that their history is something to be laughed at, something of ignorance and something to be ashamed of. Arabs spread propagandas throughout Somalia that our ancient history is a history of ignorance and barbaric lifestyle and therefore should be purged from our memory. If you look our people today, it is very rare to see someone with a Somali name, all of them have Arabic name – their grandfather’s legacy and heritage is already forgotten. Now, all you hear stories from 7th century Arabia and how black slave-owning Arabs were superior to other humans in their time. If you tell them that Somalis and our culture existed before Islam, people would think you are insane.

If you have noticed lately in our culture anything from the Arabic culture is glorified, while anything that is rooted in our Somali culture is demonized; if you tell anything about ancient Somalia, most people would accuse you being Gaal. Somalis are so extremely brain-washed to believe anything resembling to their culture is something to be ashamed of, and anything Arab slave owners who lived in seventh century did is superior. Our children is regularly taught to believe Arabs and their culture is something to be spire to, something to be proud of, and even some kids are taught that we, as proud Black Africans, are in fact Arabs. Meanwhile, those mercenaries blatantly ignore and overlook the great accomplishments our forefathers did and the golden cultural heritage they left for us. Our kids know more about 7th century slave-owning Arab peasants than they know about our heroes like, SYL, Michael Maryam a, Ziyad, Dhegdheer, Xaawo Taako, and many others who are giants in their own right. And, we the people, should’ve build a monuments preserving and amplifying their contribution to our people, like American’s did for their forefathers.

In early twentieth century, when this Arab supremacy wasn’t as prevalent in Somalia as it is today, Somalis were proud being Somali. They made their own poems, told their own stories, and disliked other foreign cultures. Consequently, you would rarely see Somalis with these strange Arab names like Abdi, and Abdul, if you look back your ancestry, like your grandfather and men who came before him, very few of them had had an Arab name. To them, Arab names, and their cultures, were beneath them; and even some thought Arabs were emasculated inferior men. You could observe this fact through their depiction in Somali classic poems and songs, like this, One of the poems would say, ‘Iga daa, carabi naage’ illustrating the inferiority of Arab men.

I don’t understand why alot of Somalis hate Arabs and even call them inferior, don’t you understand that that is the definition of racism. From what I see you have a backwards understanding of the Quran and an inferiority complex. Hahaha, do you really believe that Arabs are superior to us or the Quran is equivalent to Nazi propaganda. Also, are you a jareer/Negroe or something because you can not call out Arabs for owning slave when Somalis themselves were avid slave traders and owned slaves themselves. There are some Somalis that think they are superior to the Africans Negroes just like how you will find people like that in every ethnic group. Whatever your problem is, it seems to be personal and you should not make such generalizations about large groups of people. Brother, it seems you are not Muslim please resolve your personal issues on your own and do not drag whole cultures into it

Response 2.
There is literally no reason for a Somali to hate Arabs . what have they done to us? They are our neighbors who we share culture and history with more than any other people outside Ethiopia so we should at least respect them for that if we ignore the 500K Somalis currently in Arabia.
You have some serious issues. Maybe it’s inferiority complex? I suggest you go seek help

Response 3.
There is no way you have any Arab friends. We cannot succumb to the hateful mentality plaguing this world. Many Somali’s around the world live by, eat with, and do business with Arabs. While we have our own distinct culture, we must not forget that we are still human beings. It’s perfectly fine to “hate” someone’s ideology, we should never “hate” an entire people. That’s what Hitler did, someone you claim to despise.

The writer’s argument is very porous. What is this arabic culture that the Somali’s have adopted a part from adopting the names?

The names are Muslim dimwit!!!

Somalis are learning fast how the world sees them, as Africans. I remember a time when North Africans wanted nothing to do with Subsaharan Africa. Despite their countries being on the continent of Africa, they wanted to be seen as a more advanced group of Arab/Africans which meant distancing themselves completely from the blacks. How things change! Suddenly, these Egyptian, Libyans, Moroccans are clamoring to identify themselves with Sub-Saharan Africa. It’s because their countries are falling apart, opportunities are dwindling and they are not wanted in Europe or USA. Somalis vile vile, with Trump’s travel ban they shall soon find their African roots and come down low low to where we have been watching them. It’s a good thing, as long as they don’t bring that religion with them. I have Somali roots, so I appreciate them as fellow African brothers and sisters.

The same thing happened to other Africans when the white man landed with a Bible in tow. We were baptized and given “Christian” names, kumbe ni majina ya wazungu tu! We took up the European man’s culture, religion and language, and forgot our own.

If you someone asks your name, and you give the African names, they must ask, “na ile jina ingine?”

You are a black African no better than the rest of us, embrace your identity.

What about yours?

I’ve not dropped my father’s name bado naitumia, not planning to.

:D:D:D:D what does it do for you in this day and age??? For real though, it depends on your definition of Arab, if having a male Arab ancestor makes you Arab (Islamically) then some Somali tribes are Arab. But as long as your skin is black and you come from Africa, you’ll always be a negro to the rest of the world.

Dirie, Sigule, Awes, Niuweni (Big), Yrisu(tiny), Mudei…
Well these are some few Somali indegenous names, but most “Somali” do bear arab names.
As far as im concerned, the most common Somali name is Abdul() Arabs usually refer to blacks/Somali as “Abdul”~, in that order…, closely followed by Mahmoud Mohamed, Abdi rahman, Said…etc

And here I was, thinking Godana is a Boran name.
