Question - Data company

For those in the know please shed some light here. How can a private data company collect its data in kenya, where government institutions are reluctant to release data to the public. Like if i wanted to know the number of students in public schools, or number of hospitals, or maybe the average income per household in a certain county.
Also what are the tools (software) that a data company uses to collect data?

you can never be ahead of the govt,it control all real data. unless you have massive muscle
but kama ni past you can get it from kbs.
pia check out their library hapo chini it is up to previous year kama saa hii ya 2014 iko

kenya national bureau of statistics has all the data, unless you want to know the number of soldiers deployed in kismaiyu then you will have a problem…

KNBS’s data is outdated and has even been a concern by world bank after being given over 50 billion. Am talking about current data, and how to cash in on that.

close enough but can i repackage this data and sell it as my own since its public?

I work for clients who find KNBS’ quite satisfactory and where we find some a bit outdated the County Statistics (some prefer to call themselves Statistical!) Officers are always ready to come up with fairly accurate projections. If that doesn’t work you might want to commission ipsos for a specific study…

You first need to know the clients.

Most investors have a research and data analysis department.
