If it was dec then it would be a disaster but by April the weather will be fairly warm in April. Then all these steps will only push Europeans to source for other suppliers of gas. After the dust settles down Russia will be the loser. It will not have a market for its own goods. The only way out is for Putin to end the world through nuclear war

True, the timing is wrong. Winter is almost over, lakini fuel ita hike mbaya sana in the EU

Kindly Sir, please tell us which other suppliers of natural gas do you know off?

(FYI : kuna tofauti ya Gas na Petrol.)

Algeria. Turkmenistan

Vitisho kama za watu wa boda

I always laugh when people comment as if they are living in the EU. Sisi hapa bei mavuta na gas imepanda but people are relaxed. There are still reserves for several weeks. Winter has been rather mild so no worries. In a month spring sets in. The governments are already working on viable alternatives.

Major losers are countries in Africa and some in Asia because the prices will definitely rise globaly… so ask Uhuru what he is planning ama ni siasa tu?

Humans are highly adaptable to all hardship conditions …

What happened to Europe and Europeans 80 years ago when Russian oil and gas were not available…???

Absolutely nothing … :D:D

And what happened to Russians 80 years ago when they were not selling oil and gas to Europe?

They were so self sufficient that they wiped out the Nazis and drove them back all the way to Berlin until Hitler had no option but to commit suicide.

The Russians have shown great restraint against Ukraine in seeking to remove the Nazi sympathisers in Zelensky’s regime.

If it was an all out war, Ukraine would have been wiped off the map already.

@Motokubwa aka Mastima, yule bibi wako wa London ni kama amerudi mtaa.

Uhuru is a lame duck President. 4 months and he’s out of office and you are still looking for solutions that he didn’t give you in 10 years.

Industry needs Russian oil and gas. Germany buys 40% of her requirements from Russia. There are zero other options. Not only are there zero options but if the price goes above 130, Industry grinds to halt.

There will be another winter coming, unafikiria hao wanachill hadi September ndio waende sokoni kununua mafuta? No gas, no wheat, no fertilizer equals Europe kaput.

Africa kama kawa ni mungu tu!

It’s all about telling Putin To Go FakHimuselfuUp…:

As recently as the mid-2000s, energy companies fretted that the U.S. would soon run out of natural gas. Now, thanks to the U.S.-invented technology of hydrofracturing, or fracking, the country produces more gas than it can consume. “As in World War II and other crises, America has Europe’s back,” Mike Sommers, the chief executive of the American Petroleum Institute, wrote last week. (The institute, despite its scholastic name, is Washington’s leading lobbyist for the oil-and-gas industry.)

Since 2018, the United States has been the world’s largest producer of oil and natural gas. On paper, “we are energy independent,” John Hess, the CEO of Hess, said yesterday at CERAWeek, the energy industry’s annual conference. But what a funny kind of independence it is. As he spoke, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine pushed U.S. gas prices to more than $4.10 a gallon, setting a new all-time high. Energy independence has neither insulated the economy from geopolitics nor provided the U.S. with more industrial capacity in an emergency. It certainly hasn’t helped slow down climate change.

America Is the World’s Largest Oil Producer. So Why Is Losing Russia’s Oil Such a Big Deal? (msn.com)

Y’all should be concerned about the other minerals.

Cobalt, Nickel, Lead, palladium, industrial diamonds, silver, platinum (2nd biggest producer), copper, etc.

:D:D I’m sure you already know the history of building pipelines to Europe from both countrirs you have mentioned.

Do I really need to post that history plus the cost implications of such pipelines? No.

If you come South from Algeria to Nigeria, Angola or Tz or Madagascar these are poor countries that would expect Germany to foot the bill of a massive pipeline through hostile lands and very harsh terrain. There is also the risk of leakages/ environmental impact. Even Germany is not rich enough to maintain those pipelines.

And building a new pipeline from Algeria that can match Nord stream 1 and 2 would cost trillions of dollars and take several decades , time which Germany does not have.

The current pipeline from Algeria cannot even meet Spains needs.

Soon they will have to come to a ceasefire

You are rather “economic” with both truth and history …

Firstly - No communist economy can ever be regarded as “efficient” , that is why Communism generally has failed everywhere as a governance system.

Secondly - It was thanks to massive assistance of the US and Allied Forces ( later NATO ) that Stalin and Russia were able to degrade and finally defeat the Nazi Invasion.
So forget this common nonsense propaganda about Stalin fighting Hitler by himself.

Thirdly - by all accounts , Putin has over-reached himself … the Ukraine Invasion is one big nail in his coffin , but in the end , it will be his Oligarchs and the Russian people who will get fed up of him and finally remove him from power …

Already the resistance in Russia to this useless futile Invasion has began …
Even his own soldiers are beginning to defect on the battlefield … :D:D
