Pure Blood

According to Pure Blood tales, God, Ngai, Mwene Nyaga created the
first man Gikuyu and placed him at a place near
Mount Kenya at a place called Mukurwe wa
Gathaga in present day Muranga County.
He was lonely and he asked Ngai for a partner.
Ngai gave him a woman called Mumbi and
together they got 9 daughters. The clans of the
Kikuyu are named after these daughters:

  1. Wanjirũ is the mother to the Anjiru clan:
They are the defenders and offer sacrifices for
    warriors before war

    leadership
  4. Wangũi or Waithiegeni is the mother of the
    Angui or Aithiegeni clan
They are messengers in the land
  5. Waithĩra or Wangeci is the mother to the
    Aithĩrandũ or Angeci clans
They are the warriors who protect the land
  6. Waceera or Wanjeri is the mother of the
    Aceera clan
They are good lawyers and have a very sweet
tongue. However, they are very mean

    of the Ethaga clan

Little wonder they are the sissy-iest of males.

Look at who is getting beaten by their wives; who has their balls cut

Aithiraandu are coming after you

@Wakanyama, is Aicakamuyu, his stage name is mugo kihii.

I’m from the northern side of the Mountain where we call it Kirimara and have a different myth of origin. In our story we wandered to the mountain side. Created elsewhere.

They had 10 daughters but 9 got “married” thus the 9 clans… In other news, the theories of 'my origin’are 3. First, ile ya Bible, where God created Adam & Eve etc, etc, the second theory is ile nilisoma GHC about evolving from Homo habilis, to erectus to Sapien & finally “ndì Múnjiru wa mbarí ya Mígwí”

Ours is not so much a creation myth but oral history of our (Meru) migration from an island at the coast.
Its long and complicated and I’m not very good at telling it.
Red skinned people arrive at this island, they enslave us. A leader emerges Koomenjue who tricks the slavers. Merus escape in the night, dawn and daybreak. From the escape times you get three mother clans; Njiru for those escaped in the night, njaro for day and the third one I don’t remember.
They follow the Tana over generations and eventually settle at a place in Tharaka where dispersion happens. In lower primary school we would take rounds in telling the story as recalled from narrations from grandparents. In the story a man called Muthetu is split open and his intestines examined for clues

Our clans are too many to count btw.
