Hey, i am looking for a professional automotive wiring expert with Can Bus knowledge.
Any leads will be appreciated.

What information are you trying to pull from the canbus ? And what vehicle make and model, I can tell exactly what each model exposes, including pids, start address and payload length
BTW canbus and wiring are two different things
Do you deal with vehicle trackers ?
Not really, I just happen to know alot about many different disciplines
Why do you ask?
I install trackers and they have CAN bus capabilities though i have never had anyone with good knowledge of the how to integrate the units. The tracker brand is Teltonika.
Depends on what information you are trying to pull
Different vehicle manufacturers expose different levels of information
But real canbus hacks are pretty straight forward, just connect CANH from reader to CANH cable on car, CANL from reader to CANL on car. And you are good to go
You can actually sniff this information on to a PC using a can analyzer (e.g MicroChip can analyzer)
Pretty straight forward
But just remember than the information level is different for different models
E.g the chevloret Cruz will give you fuel level but a toyota won’t, a scania will give you up to engine coolant temperature while a Volvo won’t etc.
If you want to get your hands dirty on this you can check the can hacks forums and arduino forums
I am doing an engine swap for Subaru STI 2008, the engine can’t start and the wiring guy insists that the can bus system might be faulty,he however doesn’t have any knowledge about it.I know wiring and can bus are two different things but someone with knowledge of both might help
That has nothing to do with the canbus
Talk to @introvert
True, this has nothing to do with that incubus thing you guys are talking about.
Unless he is mistaking the ECU for CANBUS :D:D:D
What might be the problem ?
My car has been in garage for over a month and that has been the story…It can’t even crank,no check engine light though all other lights are there
Definitely not CANBUS, think the guy is confusing it with ECU
Can stands for controller area network and in layman’s language it’s just a protocol(J1708,J1939,J1979 etc ) and bus which allows you to read what different components in the car is doing, most common use is diagnostics what most people call OBD.
On the other hand, a misprogrammed ECU can cause your current problems
I suggest you get someone who knows what they are doing to check it out.
But I can assure you it has nothing with the canbus. That’s like saying your office servers won’t power up because the lan cables have a problem
Do you have any leads…at least someone who knows what he is doing.
yes, i already told you to talk to @introvert
Thanks…
also talk to mappers. they may be able to diagnose. check faulty parts. starter, fuel pump, timing (most important thing on a suby).
pressure and leak test also important.
wiring from the harness
it could be that the ecu has beaten like a drum. try connect with a known good working one.
it has nothing to do with canbus at all.
edit: sorry i’m a bit late to these posts.
@introvert , kindly help me with your contacts
