These guys are just after money. Misdiagnosis ndio zao. Went to one. With a pain in my left chest…pap cardiac something…
Went for a second opinion. Systems were down. I waited. Then thought why not ask the nurse to test my BP. After all its free. And I had a problem with it sometimes back. She asks some questions…umekuja kuchukua dawa? I say yes…145/94 n writes it on a paper. Namwambia sawa. System zikarudi. Got my booklet. I have to see a specialist but I have to go through the same nurse for weight,bp,height n such. Specialist Ni 3k. Company is paying. No problem.
Checks by the nurse…BP…124/76. Temperature nini nini…then bolt to the cardiologist.
Checks. ECG…etc…who told you you have a cardio problem?..
Never ever go there again. They put pressure on patients for nothing. You are normal. Don’t fear. He said.
What about pressure I asked…he barked…Get out of here dude…you are normal.
This is the cue to make you realize they will run you through tests that are more than necessary like a guinea pig; try flashing a health insurance card and they see a cash cow that is ready to be shaken saa hiyo you have limits on your cover
True boss. I agree. But they should be humane. Had to go through tests…the doc even admonished the nurse. Misdiagnosis is real. Unakufa Na ugonjwa sio wako just coz company is paying. Terrible
2nd opinion is good. I have a friend who lost her uterus to misdiagnosis. I insisted she gets anaa opinion but she was convinced that fibroids had ‘eaten’ her uterus and only option was to completely remove it. She can’t have children now.
If this happened IRL. What was the right diagnosis?
Suppose she got anaa opinion which is right, could it have saved the uterus?
How about an extensive bleeding post myomectomy(which supposedly was to save her uterus).
Am not judging but…hekaya detected.
Those insurance cards ni shida tupu. Imagine one hospital walishangaa ati i don’t use the cover for medical check up. Told them, wacha tu ningojee niwe mgonjwa niende hosii…
some time last year i walked to my regular service provider for a review of something i had…having walked uphill in the afternoon heat the BP was a bit up and this DR immediately prescribed meds which i did not take as i wasn’t convinced i had BP issues…next day around same time i walked to another DR in town via a private lab where my BP was taken and it was normal…mission was only to get a second opinion whether i should start on BP meds…this one went round and round…sending me to lab for tests, undress for a physical exam, 1000 questions…do not take the meds…bill 4550 which i painfully paid for out of pocket…
