Pray For WSR As ICC Resurfaces...And It'll Not Be Pretty.

Kenyan lawyer Paul Gicheru has surrendered to the International Criminal Court (ICC) five years after an arrest warrant was issued by The Hague-based court in 2015.

The ICC confirmed the developments in a press release on Monday, November 2.

“Paul Gicheru surrendered to the authorities of The Netherlands pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court,” the statement read.

“The Court submitted a cooperation request to Dutch authorities for the arrest and surrender of Paul Gicheru to the ICC upon completion of the necessary national arrest proceedings,” the court added.

The advocate was accused of obstruction of justice in the case against Deputy President William Ruto.

Gicheru, alongside Philip Kipkoech Bett, was accused of tampering with ICC witnesses.

The two have spent years in the Kenyan courts seeking to quash their extradition and it remains unclear what prompted Gicheru to surrender.

The lawyer represented some of the witnesses in Ruto’s cases who later recanted their statements.

The arrest warrant against the two was issued under seal on 10 March 2015 and unsealed on 10 September 2015.

A sealed warrant of arrest is kept secret from the public, to ensure wanted individuals don’t attempt to flee.

The cases against Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta were dropped for insufficient evidence and alleged witness tampering.

However, the court refused to acquit them, with the ICC Prosecutor’s office promising to revive the cases if and when new evidence emerged.

After the cases were thrown out President Kenyatta declared that he would never allow any other Kenyan to be tried at the ICC.

“I will not allow any other Kenyan to be tried in a foreign court. As a country, we have closed the ICC chapter,” he declared in 2016 during a rally at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

from what i remember kesi ya uhuru was closed ya ruto iko open

The only reason he could have surrendered is bcoz he struck some sort of a deal with wakina uhunye or icc itself or both. It doesnt make sense otherwise. Why would someone just give himself up outta the blues?

They’ll give him the old viagra treatment before they hand him over to the ICC.

Whoever advised Uhuru to drop the onslaught against the ICC court after the 2013 win alikuwa ameona mbali… the failure to withdraw Kenya from the ICC was a political masterstroke.

Ruto takataka Jambazi sugu kutoka Sugoi now has something else to occupy his mind apart from his hasla nonsense

First: BBI falls
Two: Any Uhuru supportee fails.
Three: MaDVD will be next prezzo

It’s not a master stroke at all. You realize that the ICC has the power to investigate and prosecute individuals in nations that are not Signatories. Why do you think Donald Trump “banned” Bensouda from the US? The US is not a signatory.

Why did he surrender?
BBI is the reason

ICC CASES IN KENYA IS DEAD AND BURRIED. LABDA WAANZE NA THE WAGALLA MASACRE

There’s probably no deal. But it’s not a good idea to live hiding under the cloud of the UN. So you can’t travel and you will be apprehended at some point when an unfriendly administration takes over. Why can’t you face your day in court.

Mudavadi is clearly right inside the Uhuru Moi camp… so that would be a great win for Uhuru and Gideon Moi and their dynasties… But I think he would be the best guy at the top

Criminal cases do not die easily. If new evidence come, they can revive the cases.

Let us see how this unfolds and yes, WSR should pray (was he acquitted?)

Nope. I am tired for anyone who is ascending to the top courtesy of being sponsored or having strings pulled for them.

Very unfortunate but trust me, the next “leader” will be made by the system and not by your vote. I think he is a sober guy though. ( I know he loves his bottle, but I think he can manage our economy better)

Tony Gachoka if you watch the old JKL clips, had already sounded the ICC warning bells to Ruto, way back in 2015 or 2016… immediately after Kenyatta’s case had ended. Tony Gachoka akilewa huropokwa, that’s why alikaziwa kuenda TV for a very long time after a different JKL interview where he fired the first shots that Jubilee was over (in 2016). Nikipata both clips I will post them here.

From 7:20. You can see the Uhuru Camp always wished for Ruto to go to ICC and never come back. I think they realised in time they may need him for 2017 and rescheduled.
