Just watched a small part of a story going by a similar title on Aljazeera. And I got intrigued.
The story is about how the British citizens in UK are informed by their local news channels about the monies their government spends on poor immigrants and vagabonds in UK. How the immigrants and other such beneficiaries fraudulently claim for aid and such nonsense!
If how Aljazeera are reporting on that is not plain lies, then the British media is, simply putting it, outrageously sensational and hogwash! They portray the beneficiaries as suckers and pests. They go out and shamelessly recruit pretenders, pay them to pose as fraudulent aid receipients, and then they air such stories to incite the citizenry against the immigrants.
According to the Aljazeera, monies are actually lost to false aid claimants, as a matter of fact. But, in comparison, the amounts lost in such ways pale immensely from those lost in other ways. Due to the strict and vigorous vetting processes, only 1.9 billion dollars is lost to fraudulent aid. Compare that to tax evasion by businesses and British citizens themselves, which amounts to over 5.2 billion dollars. Far worse is money stolen and plundered by government officials who stash away in offshore accounts upwards of over 88 billion dollars!!!
And yet the media will focus on what entertains the public, the dire poverty and the unfortunate predicaments of immigrants!
They lose 1.9 BILLION on foreign aid?
They should get angry. That’s not pocket change.
Losing 5.2 billion to their own citizens is more tolerable than losing 1.9 to foreigners.
Not exactly foreign aid. Its money lost to Fraudulent aid claimants. Mind you, the citizens also get involved in the fraud, but you have just excused them.
But I think Aljazeera was trying to shed light on the hypocrisy and the bias by the British media. We should not forget that the immigrants are also gainfully contributing to the British economy.
Down the line European countries are gonna come up with some drastic rules about immigration, and deportation will follow in an industrial scale.
US did it under Obama, this guy deported lots of immigrants , something that makes Trump look like child play
Immigrants are the “boggy men”, in many western democracies, the media is tuned to relentless point a finger at immigrants, which enable many of the citizens to direct discontent and anger towards immigrants, hence strong anti-immigration sentiments.
If this was not the organised scheme of things it is via the media, the public would look within their own conduct and see the true nature of affairs. The guillotine that felled Marie Antoinette/ Charles 1st would be revived with zeal towards their very own, one would guess control the media. as well
